Arturia's Comp FET-76 also sounds amazing to my ears. I find that usually when I want what it does, something like the MJUC model 2 works better.Very interesting! After Slate Digital released their FG-116 I pretty much stopped using IK's version of it.so I'll have to give it a second look. I took a look at Electrum and made a demo.
FETpressor doesn't get much use these days it's the smoothest and subtlest of the bunch, almost to a fault. Thats what the folks at Muramasa and United Plugins have just released in their new amp sim called Electrum. VLA-FET is a bit more subtle, with a very "tactile" kind of quality. Of the other three, I like the Rocket best for extreme applications you can do some world-class envelope mangling with that one. I've never used a hardware 1176, but I did have the original UAD version for several years, and of the four native ones I mentioned I think the IK comes the closest to the UAD.
